Hi, I'm Kami

I was born and raised in Amarillo, Texas, where the western lifestyle wasn’t a trend; it was everyday life. That foundation continues to shape how I see the world, especially through a creative lens.

Now based in Austin, I work as a software engineer at General Motors, balancing a career in tech with my creative pursuits. I actively seek out opportunities to mentor girls in my community and make space for more women in male-dominated fields. I recently spoke on a Women in STEM panel, an experience that reminded me why representation and visibility matter so much.

Photography has been a creative outlet since I was 14, whether I'm capturing moments from travel, styled shoots, or everyday life. I love being both in front of and behind the lens, shaping a mood, telling a story, or simply following good lighting.

This site brings together three galleries that reflect all of that: western influence, creative exploration, and thoughtful, intentional content inspired by Cowgirl Magazine and the modern women who represent it.
